it took a year... to finish.
So for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding/anniversary gift I wanted to do a painting for them. My sister-in-law found a picture she wanted me to turn into a painting and e-mailed it to me. well... as soon as I got it I printed the picture out and put it in a protective cover... however it took me about two months to actually get the canvas gessoed, and sketch it out. After that I was pretty excited about my new painting... and then I moved out east for a few months to live with a cousin, then to Santa Barbara, to live with some other relatives. By the time I got back home to work on it again, half a year had gone by! Since its an oil painting I took time inbetween layers for them to dry... which given my time that I worked on them, well... alot of time would pass between each layer. Finally after summer I was able to work on it to my hearts content! Now it is finally finished! I was able to present it to them for Christmas, however the red would not dry! so i couldn't actually give it to them until it dryed... but now it has and is now haning in thier living room. I'm so glad they like it! Below is the image, the painting, and details of my year long project...
